District Appropriate Authority:
             According to provisions in PNDT Act, Government of Maharashtra has appointed the civil surgeon of Government District Hospital as the district Appropriate Authority for the implementation of PNDT Act. Presently Dr.Suresh Jagdale holds the post of civil surgeon.
             As an eminent and celebrated general surgeon, Dr.Suresh Jagdale is from Bidal village of Satara district. Starting his career from the grass root level as Medical Officer in Primary Health Center; soon he was selected for post-graduate course. He acquired his master's degree in general surgery in flying colours from Miraj Medical College. He worked as a successful surgeon in various hospitals like Satara Civil Hospital, CPR Hospital Kolhapur and Multispeciality Hospital Nasik. He was awarded fellowship and had a proud privilege of working at Tata Cancer Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has done various difficult and life saving surgeries for which his patients worship him. He has equally proved himself to be as a good administrator during last one year, under his able guidance PNDT Act implementation in the district would be fruitful and primary aim would be fulfilled.

             Mr.Parange is the senior most Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Satara. He served as Civil Surgeon in District Civil Hospital, Satara from January 1959 to September 1970. He was actively involved as Civil Surgeon of Satara District in the relief and rehabilitation of Victims of Koyana Earthquake in December 1967. He established a charitable trust Jana Seva Mandal for Healthcare activities.
              First Blood Bank in Satara District was started by Jana Seva Mandal in 1972. The Blood Bank and the other activities of Jana Seva Mandal are carried out in own premises in Parasnis Colony, Powai Naka, Satara.

             He is a renowned pediatrician of Satara city. He has worked extensively for many years in Melghat Project to reduce infant mortality. He is involved in many social work activities in Satara District. He has worked as a Senior Medical Officer in many rural hospitals and presently heads the Pediatrics Department of District Civil Hospital, Satara. He is associated with PNDT District Committee for last few years.
